What you've to do whenever you're sad and hopeless.

Updated: Jan 22, 2023

Do you feel helpless and depressed right now? Do you feel that life is against you? Yeahh, I know very well the feeling of helplessness. I know things have been hard for you lately, and every hard work you do to make things better seems like a waste of effort. Every night, you cry secretly on your bed. And yes I've already been through this before. Once, I loss my grandma my whole life changed, I felt so hopeless and depressed. I started to believe nothing. I started to hate it all. And I've lost myself mainly. Because in my life, it was a massive loss. I couldn't realize the fact, I couldn't be usual for all my friends, and also I couldn't focus on my studies. I used to be too loud everywhere I was. But after that, I lost somewhere. I began to forget about the excitement and so on. After that, I've been through so many and I have gone through so much.

Life is unpredictable. A rich family can wake up tomorrow to realize that all they've worked for is gone. And a homeless fella can wake up tomorrow to realize that he has a life-changing opportunity. So don't ever feel that your future is hopeless, because you wouldn't even know how and what the future is going to be.

Here's what I've come up with to that end:

Count your blessings

In the modern era, we're used to wanting more and trying to make things better. This could sound too simple to be that effective, but you've got to learn it every day and in everything you do. Instead, you're going to start focusing on the good things that have happened and the lessons you've learned from unpleasant events or encounters. Start by doing this simple exercise every night before you go to bed:

Write down at least 3 happy things that happened that day, and you can be thankful for that. They don't have to be big things, you write down happy little moments like having delicious food on time, plenty of drinkable water, and the kind people around you. When you practice this technique without any interruption, for a few weeks or even months, you will notice that as you experience it, you will begin to appreciate all those little pleasures of life. Trust me I've been doing this for a couple of months, and I started to appreciate every little thing in my life. Mainly, I stopped moaning about every single issue.

Remember that there are still things to appreciate in our life.

Don't let the darkness blind you from seeing the stars. It's human nature to get caught up in stuff that doesn't work out in our lives and forget about the interesting parts. I am a strong believer in a grateful spirit, a magnet of abundance and blessings. No matter how awful life can seem at any point, if we keep our minds open to them, there are always good things. And thanks to the challenges, I came to see who my true friends were, and I also learned to appreciate all the blessings that I had taken for granted.

I may have lost my grandma, a few of my friends, emotional control, but the difficulties are temporary. I would always have my knowledge and the people who care deeply about me to fall back on me to get me back on my feet.

Understand that life is always changing. Things are going to get better.

When trouble happens, it may seem like things are just getting worse, But this is the pessimist who's talking to us. If we keep our faith and respond to the situation with positive and productive action, we can get out of the cycle and things can get better. Sometimes all we have to do is simply just let time pass and fight the temptation to overreact and aggravate the issue. During times like these, I will be distracted by actively participating in other aspects of my life.

Recall how you overcame similar struggles in the past.

It's normal to be terrified by anxiety, self-doubt, and negative thoughts that we're not going to be able to resolve obstacles. We're forgetting that it always feels impossible until it's done and that we've overcome similar struggles in the past. An easy but extremely effective thing I did was to list the times in my life where I had been busted through hurdles and raised above the almost unsolvable challenges. And I'm still doing it to achieve my goals.

If you're struggling with anxiety and depression, you need to relax first. Start doing things that make you happy. Yeah, I know you don't feel the need to do anything in your current situation, but you know you can't just sitting or lying about doing nothing. If you don't do anything, you'll lose yourself as soon as negative feelings overshadow you. Therefore, you have to be deliberate about it to get out of depression and hopelessness. No one can help you unless you help yourself, so I encourage you to stop sitting or lying about doing nothing, please. For example, you can join some positive talks, start some new skills, and dance whenever you're down, and so on. Life is too short, please, get up and do some fun. This will divert you from your unpleasant situation, boost your confidence, give you the energy you need to face up to your situation, and maybe helps you to see your situation from a different perspective. I want you to know that life is an opportunity, and if you don't take advantage of what you have to offer today, you won't get it tomorrow. Every day would have something to offer, so live today and let the worrying thing happen tomorrow.

*stay positive- train your mind to see the good in every situation*
